Well, it seems that even the Sony PS3 is struggling in the current climate. Sales of this latest console were down by 8.9% in the last quarter. The PSP sales were down 11.8% and the PS2 down by 53%, which is a staggering fall, but then the PS2 is considered by some to be almost obsolete now.
So, 2009 Sony sales are still very much unpredictable. As the credit crunch bites, perhaps people simply aren't spending the same amount of money on computer gaming software. The latest consoles simply cost so much, so it will be interesting to see how consumer spending impacts on the sales of the gaming software community, particularly the popular PS3.
